Accountability and Assessment

Vanity Data. . .where do we rate?

How are we currently assessing?
How are we using our data?

What kinds of strategies are we using to hold our learners accountable in their learning?

Vertical Meetings - analyzing STAAR questions and breaking them apart

Writing
Math
Balanced Literacy

Assessment Data Planning Days

3rd, 4th and 5th

Kinder, 1st and 2nd - half days

Analyzing past data STAAR

How do we compare?

What are our areas of weakness. . .strength?

Hattie Training
Feedback for learners
How do our learners know they are growing and learning?

Examples:  Hattie survey, list of questions, brainstorm with table groups (take pics of circle maps, etc.)  meet with accountability partner
Learner Outcomes and Rubrics

Analyzing practice benchmarks, ensuring we are aligning RTI, ESL, etc and not letting anyone fall through the cracks. . .tutoring, etc.  who are we tutoring, who is needing more support,

Interventions
Using I-station and Reflex as interventions, what does small group instruction look like (Solid Tier I instruction)

*evidence of learning - - learner/educator environment.
*Is it a flexible learning environment?
*What can you incorporate in your classroom?
*Ideas for your classroom?

Professional learning to start the year - Summer and August 2014

We began our year regrouping and thinking about where specifically we needed to focus as a campus.  It was critical for us to look at longitudinal data and see our needs.  Part of our learning would consist of analyzing where we were with problem-based learning and our STEM initiative.

Planning and designing team worked during the summer.  Here is a link to Google Docs where we began developing some of our planning.

Fort Worth Museum Summer
Working with Cathy Barthelmy and touring the museum, coming to campus and looking at where we had been with our TCE UbD lesson design and where we were planning to go!  Ideas and brainstorming

Assessment and Accountability
Analyzing STAAR data, parent/learner survey and putting out the picture of what our data was saying about us as a campus
Pulling up actual data and comparing our campus with others across the district.
Where are our holes?  What do we need to do?

  • Came up with writing across the board K-5. . .
  • Accountability in Math- stations and whole group
  • Accountability in Science - non fiction reading, graphs, using those scientific tools (measuring, collecting data)
  • Accountability in Reading - text coding, analyzing texts, inferences and educators/learners asking critical thinking/higher level questions

Starting it out for the year!

Brett and I took our self assessment and then began work on choosing domains and creating action plans aligning with our campus and professional needs. . .

We created a visual imagery showcasing how all of our systems within TCE must work together to achieve goals for all of our learners.
